Pulling into my driveway, I no longer see all the things that need to be done to my yard. All I can see is what has grown, flourished and how I will not be here much longer to watch. I love my yard and I have spent many hours out here working to get it just right. Usually my Dad would be here too, helping, digging, getting dirty and enjoying every minute. I can understand why my little grandmother loved working in her garden. It is extremely therapeutic and a good workout too. Obsessed? Maybe a little, but I love hydrangeas. Every house I have planted them and just as they are getting where I want them.... we move. Oh well, I will plant more. David once told me that he thought I would buy a house just because the hydrangea bushes were beautiful. (And in some ways he was right, I am a sucker for a hygrangea bush.) I can't remember if my new house has any, but if not, it will. And yes, they do grown in Milwaukee....
By the way, we did sell our house and are almost complete with the inspection. (It was on the market 10 days!) We also did place a contract on a house, in Brookfield, WI. (Brookfield is to Milwaukee, as Midlothian is to Richmond, and about the same distance too.) We are really excited about this house and it has an amazing basement.... a great area for our visiting guests.
